Pennsylvania

The score. Each hospital gets a pass rate: the share of Care Carta's checks it passed, counting only the checks we could run. A hospital with no usable price file gets 0%. A state's score is the average of its hospitals' pass rates. Only hospitals on Medicare's list count.

The chart. Each bar is a group of states with similar scores, in steps of 5 points (for example, 70–75%). The taller the bar, the more states in that group. Pennsylvania's bar is blue.

Small places. States and territories with fewer than 10 hospitals aren't charted or ranked, because a single hospital would swing their score. They're in the list below.
