What the results mean
Passed
Care Carta checked, and the requirement was met.
Failed
Care Carta checked, and the requirement was not met. For example, the hospital's price file could not be found. Some download problems, such as a refused request or a web page served in place of the file, only count as a failure if they happen again on a later day.
Blocked
Care Carta could not make this check because an earlier check it depends on failed. The check that failed is named on the hospital's page. A blocked check is not a second failure, but it is not a pass either.
Couldn't determine
Care Carta tried and could not decide, for a reason on our side or one that isn't clearly the hospital's: a download that failed in a way we can't attribute to the hospital, a value we didn't have, a tool that didn't finish. The hospital's page gives the reason in plain words. This is never counted against the hospital.
Not assessed
The check can't be made from the price file alone, or Care Carta hasn't built it yet. It says nothing about whether the hospital meets the requirement.
Not applicable
The requirement only applies in a situation that doesn't apply to this hospital's file, so there was nothing to check.
The pass rate
The percentage on a hospital's page is the number of checks passed divided by the checks Care Carta could make: passed, failed and blocked. Couldn't determine, not assessed and not applicable are left out, so a hospital isn't marked down for something Care Carta couldn't check. Because of that, a high pass rate on few checks is not the same as a high pass rate on many; the page always says how many checks the rate is over.
Groups of checks
Checks are grouped by the section of the rule they come from. A group shows the most serious result inside it, in this order: failed, blocked, couldn't determine, passed, not applicable, not assessed.
